Previously, US stock trading was limited to 16 hours/day, including regular market hours plus pre-market and post-market trading. If you're unfamiliar with this, check out a previous article about 16-hour trading of US stock and what it means for investors How to make good use of pre-market and after-market trading in U.S. stocks?. Now, Tiger Trade has added a new feature to its platform called "US Overnight Trading" available from Sunday to Thursday, starting from 8 pm and goes on until 4 am US Eastern Time. This perfectly bridges the gap between pre-market, regular, and post-market trading, allowing for a "24-hour trading" window.

Why dive into overnight trading?

With 24-hour trading for US stocks, gone are the days of losing sleep to catch the market open. Now, you can trade US stocks "round-the-trading-clock" wherever you can get online with investors from around the globe. Tiger Brokers offers a huge selection with over 9000 different stocks and ETFs available for overnight trading, including all the hot favourites—convenience and access you won't easily find elsewhere!

Here’s the cool part: lots of companies release their earnings reports or important economic updates after market hours, and these can shake up stock prices. With round-the-clock trading, you can quickly adjust your moves based on the freshest market news. Take for instance, when Tesla released its earnings after hours on April 24th,2024 and its stock price jumped 15%in the overnight market session, you now have more flexibility to decide your next step at your pace, allowing you to better manage risks and take charge of your investment strategy.

Just a heads up though, trading outside the regular hours can get a bit wild with more price swings and generally less liquidity across the board.
